Muldoon Camper Makeover [With Pictures!]

5:16 PM
For the past 10 months, I've been living in a 31-foot camper. Six months ago, my wonderful husband moved in and it became our home. Now campers aren't really known for their architectural beauty or trendy designs, but I refused to let that keep me from making a home a beautiful place to be. The redesign process that we've called to going from "Cracker Barrel to IKEA". Here's a glimpse to our Muldoon Camper Makeover....

We've added a great little patio setup...a deck, a gazebo, a hammock and a grill! Makes outdoor living in Florida bearable!

The living space was quite a trick. A lot of sewing and creative solutions [chalkboard paint!], but it's finally coming together!

The  kitchen! We did some tile work [OK, it was adhesive, but still!] and even got a new fridge [because the original one broke...] and it's looking great!

I LOVE our bathroom decor, aqua blue and whales. It's just so cheerful!

No before pictures of the bedroom, but here's a little of what we did!

Thanks to Pinterest and my father-in-law, I have a wonderful little palette garden out back as well! We're growing some great veggies like peppers and zucchini squash, and some seasonings like oregano and basil! Yum!

These are just a few of my absolute favorite decor elements in our home...a chevron rug at our front door, a travel nook & some fabric flowers, and the completion of our aqua whale bathroom theme, complete with custom artwork from our friend, Dana Higgins!

Hope you enjoyed the most recent edition of the Muldoon Camper Makeover! Am so blessed to call this place home with this man...

Checking In

0
9:14 PM
It's a few days into February, and I thought I'd check back in with the progress on my January goals!

-As for Bible reading, Creagon and I have adopted a daily reading plan, but it's not always chronological. May go back to the one I originally started though!

-It's been much harder to start and keep to sustainable healthy eating. We got a new blender with the hopes of making some veggie & fruit filled smoothies...but then our freezer went out and ice & frozen fruits were not possible. Trying to eat more salads, and whatnot, but its a slow process, but I'm still committed too.

-Photo blogging. This I've done quite well with! I've managed to take a post a photo everyday on our new blog: Muldoon Photo Year. I enjoy looking for moments to capture each day, and fun ways to edit them. I can only hope to one day be her....

-I've definitely been reading more as well! I have finished 7 books already this year, and in the middle of 2 others. I love reading so much, and I love finding the time to keep up with it.

So that's how I've been doing with my 2012 goals! Life has been really good so far this year, enjoying my new home with my husband. We are decorating and "nesting" more and more. I love making this place look more like us.

Looking forward to the rest February, our first Valentine's Day together and much more to come!

Home is Where the Heart is

So, home is a little cozier these days, with my husband all moved in now. It's pretty great actually. True, he came with more stuff, but everything has pretty much found a place, even some leftover wedding stuff, and our camper is feeling more and more like home. Here's a few new pictures of our latest "additions"!

IKEA does such a great job with essential items for small places! Our little kitchen nook is complete!

A bookshelf, a mail basket, hooks for keys & flashlights, and artwork displayed. What an entrance. Now only if that rug would come in that I ordered...

Our mini fridge, for the extra space & is leak-free, doubles as an end table to our couch, and shelving unit for our wooden display boxes!

Why yes, those are new throw pillows for the couch! Look so great on our black slipcover too!

Our first Christmas tree, all of 3 feet, but is all ours! And so is our new blue tooth compatible stereo system. Yay for streaming music!

Refrigerator art! Pictures from photobooths, wedding invites & cards, love notes and more adorn our cute little wood panel fridge. You'd think we were in love or something! ;)

Most recent addition...a new 32" flat screen TV! A great wedding gift from my parents that allows for all streaming of Netflix, The Daily Show, and Colbert Report to be seen on a screen almost as large as our wall.

The Art of Life

Found a new artist to obsess over. Her name is Jessica Rose and I found her on Etsy [my favorite shopping place for all things handmade]. I don't know what I love most about her stuff...the great typography/handwriting she uses, the quotes & sayings she finds, the hand drawn/watercolor feel of each piece, or her obsessive use of campers. Whatever it is, call me hooked. I love her stuff, and hope to have a few pieces in my own camper someday soon!

Fall Plans & Wedding Dreams

1
9:21 AM
Dear Family & Friends,

This coming Saturday, September 17, I'll be joining the No More Foundation for an event called No More Slavery. We will be raising awareness to the greater Tampa Bay area about the injustice of human trafficking, and how to get involved in the fight. I will be sharing about my ministry with YWAM as well. If you are in the Tampa area, consider joining us at the Underground Church [doors open at 5:45pm] for this free event.

This summer has flown by and the fall is quickly approaching! In the midst of wedding planning & dreaming, spending time with the fiancé & introducing him to family and friends, I've also had great success in building my sponsorship team. It's because of my [now our] incredible supporters that I'm able to return back to YWAM Orlando this fall to work with students training to prevent human trafficking both locally and internationally. A great opportunity I had this summer was to partner with the No More Foundation for two events, a Girl's Night Out and the No More Launch Party, to connect with many new friends and share the vision that Creagon and I are able to live out at YWAM Orlando.

I'm moving back to the YWAM property in Clermont, FL, this coming weekend as well into mine & Creagon's new-to-us 31ft camper! It will be my home until the wedding, which gives me the chance to turn it into our "home" by decorating the tiny spaces and creatively organizing. The fall students arrive next week, and I'm so looking forward to being part of the school staff. Through small groups, one on ones, meal times and even free time, I'll get the opportunity to invest in their lives as they gain more of an awareness and understanding of modern-day slavery, discover their own freedom in Christ and prepare for a life-changing 8week outreach to Asia this winter. I'm expecting God to do huge things this fall and can't wait to share it all with you!

Thank you for your prayers, your support and your encouragement. If you or your family would be interested in joining mine & Creagon's monthly sponsorship team, check out our donation page here or send us an email at joy2theworld82@gmail.com. Continue reading →
